Data provided by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) revealed that South Carolina had the leading number of child drowning incidents across the nation in July, wpde.com reported on August 10.
In the data collated from USA Swimming Foundation, there were 8 incidents of child drowning in South Carolina since January 1, five of which occurred in July. According to the data all the victims were children with ages 15 and below. The CPSC launched a campaign to promote pool safety to parents and their children in South Carolina. Aside from South Carolina, child drowning incidents also have increased in Florida and Texas.
