German car and motorcycle manufacturer BMW is recalling thousands of 2014 motorcycles to fix a potential problem that may occur in the spring strut of the vehicles, UltimateMotorcycling reported on June 5.
BMW Motorrad stated that at least 8,000 2014 models of R 1200 RT motorcycles equipped with Dynamic ESA may possess a defect that causes the piston rod in the rear spring strut to break. The firm discovered the potential defect after a dealer notified them of the issue. Though no injuries related to the issue have been reported, owners of the affected motorcycle models are advised to temporarily stop operating their motorcycles. BMW will fix the issue by replacing the affected part of the motorcycle.
Due to the vehicle’s limited protection, motorcycle riders are at risk of sustaining serious injuries in accidents caused by a defective part. Physical and financial difficulties are often the consequences of these accidents. The attorneys at the Goings Law Firm, LLC, work for people in Columbia whose injuries were caused by a defective vehicle.
